Right to Work Checks expanded from 1 October 2026

From 1 October 2026, mandatory right to work checks will expand to include freelance contractors, sub-contractors, and casual/bank workers in accordance with section 48 of the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act 2025. The Home Office draft Code of Practice was updated on 30 June 2026.
